Hi, my name is Chris Yates and I'm a Web Developer from Hertfordshire, trained and experienced in various markup and coding languages. I've made this portfolio to show what I know, who I am and developed the page using the various web scripts I have learnt.
Skills
- Web page authoring in HTML/HTML 5, XHTML and other browser & server side scripting languages (CSS, DHTML, XML, PHP, JavaScript, SQL/MySQL query writing).
- Experience and knowledge of Web browsers, e-mail, FTP, Telnet, SSH, VNC and news clients.
- Worked with programs and applications such as Text Editors, GUI Editors, Adobe Dreamweaver, FileZilla and EasyPHP Server.
- Understanding of basic networking components, protocols and server configuration.
- Knowledge of basic security concepts and virus protection.
- Aquired Project management skills for individual and team job tasks.
About Me
I studied with the Home Learning College where I spent 2 years working on the CIW course and successfully completed the exam last year. In doing so, I acquired numerous Internet Business, Site Development and Network Technology skills. Once I obtained my certifications, I needed to choose an area to specialise in and decided web development was the area I was most keen on. It has been in this time since, that I have learnt more web scripting languages and expanded my knowledge in the field. I chose web development as I enjoy problem solving, creating and experimenting, whilst also finding satisfaction and reward in the work I do in the back end issues being reflected on the browser for everyone to see. I hope to take all the tools I've self taught into opportunities of various interests and share with like minded individuals.
